3 Simple Tips To Help Clarify Your Brand Message
These tips are intended to help you cut through the noise, captivate your audience and make your business the obvious choice for your ideal clients.
It has never been more crucial from creative entrepreneurs to have a clear and concise brand message for their business. In today's fast paced digital world, you need to be able to quickly grab your client's attention with a statement that plainly explains who you are and what you do. You must be able to easily articulate your brand message and the clear vision for your business. Here are three simple tips that will help you confidently clarify your message.
1. Simplify Your Wording
Write down your brand message. How many sentences do you have? Try to narrow down your brand message to one concise sentence that clearly states the purpose of your business. As a rule, consumers will often feel confused and put-off by unnecessarily complex brand messages.
Original Brand Message: We are a digital marketing company based in Vancouver, British Columbia that offers a wide range of services including but not limited to social media management, copy writing, photography and more. We love working with creative local businesses to help grow their brands in the online world.
Instead You Could Say: "Digital Marketing Agency For Vancouver Creative Entrepreneurs"
Both messages are essentially saying the same thing only the second one is much clearer and more concise. It gets right to the point. It answers the who you are and what you do for your clients right away.
2. Show Your Value To Your Customers
Your customers generally aren't overly interested in the history of your company or the story of your business, they are more eager to learn how your product or service is going to enrich their lives. Make sure it is obvious in your brand message the benefit that your business provides to them. For instance, if I was a "Vancouver creative entrepreneur", I would already know that this company caters specifically to businesses similar to mine. Therefore, I may be more inclined to hire them.
3. Make Sure Your Messaging Is Clearly Displayed
Don't make it difficult for your customers to find out what you are all about. Make sure your brand message is displayed front and centre on your website and social media platforms. Solidify your brand message by repeating it throughout your brand collateral and marketing materials. You may switch up the wording a bit, but keep the core of your brand narrative the same. This will begin to foster trust and recognition for your business.
To summarize these tips, here is an inspiring quote by marketing expert, Donald Miller.
"The essence of branding is to create simple, relevant messages we can repeat over and over so we "brand" ourselves into the public consciousness."
